Cartoon World is a non profit organisation resource website for cartoonists, enthusiasts and collectors.

Founded by Bill Asprey in in a "Eureka!" moment in 1998 with the original website launched online in 1999.

The site has continually evolved and today provides advice and marketing opportunities for budding and established cartoonists, courses, digital downloads and many other functions and features including a new gift shop with a range of cartoon related merchandise.

Any profits go directly into providing more services and resourses for cartoonists.

This year sees the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. We are marking this centenary with an online exhibition of First World War Cartoons. The importance of propaganda style cartoons between 1914 - 18 has been well documented and artists such as Captain Bruce Bairnsfather (cartoon on left) became famous as they portrayed the war through their cartoons.

But there is another aspect we would also like to highlight. A whole generation was struck down, in that terrible conflict. Some drew cartoons when at the front line or recuperating away from the trenches. If you have a cartoon or sketch done by someone, on any side, we would like to hear from you. Our project runs over the next four years of the WW1 Centenary anniversary.
