BEN: A gently sarcastic dog, full of innocence and wonder, who does not realise that his psychic abilities and philosophical bent set him apart from many humans, let alone other dogs. Ben is always thinking; either dreaming up a new scheme that is bound to lead to a problem for someone or pondering the mysteries of the universe. Ben's love of life and childish pranks lead him into trouble, but in the end he is less gullible than Gordon - and certainly knows the value of his rubber ball collection.

GORDON: When Gordon rescued Ben from Battersea Dog's Home he had no idea how his life would change. Easy-going and well-meaning, Gordon accepts too much at face value. He reads widely and is easily swayed by new ideas, until brought down to earth by Ben. Daily, although striving vainly to keep the upper hand, he is outwitted and upstaged by the endearing and smart Ben, who knows how to charm his way out of any situation.

LUCY: Lucy is a simple soul who adores Ben and would do anything for him. With her feet firmly on the ground, Lucy can often see disaster looming while Ben is gaily proceeding with his latest scheme.
